Martin Dain visited Faulkner in 1961 and took some great photographs of him painting, riding his horse, and visiting around Oxford. He came back the next year and took pictures of the graveside service. The Martin J. Dain Collection was donated by the Estate of Martin J. Dain to the Southern Media Archive at the University of Mississippi. These materials transferred to the Visual Collections in 2000.
