This picture was made during the filming of William Faulkner’s “Intruder in the Dust.” Ruth’s later burned and then the building was rebuilt to become part of Neilson’s Department Store. The Tallahatchie Gourmet restaurant is just under this area on Van Buren. Check out the kid on his knee’s to the left looking under the white Ford to see the action.
